Consultation has concluded
The Municipality of Brockton is undertaking municipal infrastructure improvements along Yonge Street in Walkerton, from Durham Street to Jackson Street. Some of the existing sanitary, water and storm infrastructure is nearing the end of its service life and requires replacement. The Municipality will also take this opportunity to replace the water and sanitary services to the property line.
Reconstruction of the affected road section will include the following activities:
Replacement of sidewalk, drives and steps (at designated properties);
Replacement of watermain and services;
Replacement of sanitary sewer and services;
Installation of new storm sewers;
Full road reconstruction and installation of curb and gutters;
It is anticipated that the road closures will occur between June and November 2023, beginning mid-June and extend for a period of approximately 20 weeks (weather permitting) . Please note, Yonge Street will be closed for through traffic, but access for local traffic will be permitted. There may be restrictions to access during certain components of the project.
