East Ridge Business Park Road Naming

The Municipality of Brockton sought resident input for the naming of "Proposed Road A" in the East Ridge Business Park. Creighton Road was chosen as the name of Road "A" in the East Ridge Business Park at the May 10, 2022 Council Meeting.

The first phase of the expansion, which includes the construction of half of "Proposed Road A" has begun and the second phase, finishing the construction of Eastridge Road, is expected to have shovels in the ground this summer 2022. This road will be constructed at the northern part of this expansion and will lead to the Bruce Power Regional Soccer Fields and to the proposed municipal complex to the west.

Current roads approved in the East Ridge Business Park are:

• Eastridge Road
• Ontario Road
• Zettler Road
• Kleist Street (part of next phase of expansion)

Things to keep in mind when choosing road names

• Relevance to the Brockton Community
• Uniqueness
  • If a road name is too similar to another road, or too unique, it may cause confusion
• Length of Name
  • Single word road names are preferred for simplicity
• Location of the Road
  • The road will be in a Commercial / Industrial Business Park, and leads to a Regional Soccer Field
