Budget Consultation 2024

The Municipality consulted and engaged with residents about the 2024 budget. There are many factors that affect the Municipality's operating budget, and staff continually balance necessary costs and priorities while maintaining the service levels that our community expects. Staff are always looking for efficiencies that can result in cost savings. Activities are also tied to priorities set out by Council. The Council of the Municipality of Brockton held 2024 Budget Meetings on January 16, 2024 at 9:00 a.m., and February 6, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. and February 20, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bruce County Council Chambers (30 Park Street, Walkerton) and electronically on Zoom/livestreamed on the Municipality's website via eSCRIBE.

On February 20, 2024 the Council of the Municipality of Brockton approved the 2024 Municipal Budget with a tax rate increase of 6.41%. Read the News Item for more information on the 2024 Municipal Budget.

Note: On January 16, 2024 Council cancelled the January 17, 2024 Budget Meeting. On January 23, 2024 Council rescheduled the February 6, 2024 Budget Meeting to occur at 5:30 p.m. at the Bruce County Council Chambers rather than the originally scheduled 1:00 p.m. meeting at the Cargill Community Centre. On February 6, 2024 Council scheduled an additional Budget Meeting to occur at 6:00 p.m. on February 20, 2024.
