Your 2023 Tax Dollar
We have received some inquiries regarding how your tax dollars are spent. A breakdown of your 2023 tax dollar was included in the Tax/Summer 2023 Brockton Buzz Newsletter, and has been included in previous Tax Buzz Newsletters which are mailed with your interim Tax Bill. The 2023 budget contains $20.8 million in operating expenditures and $6.9 million in capital expenditures. After revenues and reserve fund transfers are applied, the Municipality must levy $11,483,398; a 7.43% tax rate increase over 2022. This levy increase will assist the Municipality in maintaining current levels of service while planning for the future, including the increasing demands on our roads infrastructure.
Through the direction of Council, tax dollars are put into action to serve residents and help our community prosper. Have you ever wondered how each tax dollar is spent? The average Residential home owner pay $2,524.44 annually (Based on average assessment of $263,913 excluding utilities)
